Love 4 OKC

Beginning in 2008, Clint Stone has created paintings of the city he currently resides. It started when Louisa McCune, the editor-in-chief of the statewide travel magazine Oklahoma Today, asked if he would help her locate artists creating interesting work in Oklahoma City. After selecting which artists would be included in the magazine and meeting artists all day, she asked him if he would create a concept for the cover of the magazine. He created a painting that became an award-winning magazine cover. The cover became a limited run of signed giclee prints and posters. This led to more paintings for office buildings and an ongoing relationship with the Oklahoma City Museum of Art Museum Store. In 2015, the OKCMoA Museum Store asked him to create a new painting of OKC. That painting became another series of posters and it too became featured on the cover of January/February 2020 edition of Oklahoma Today magazine, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing.

In September 2024 due to recent growth in OKC, a series of new works focused on this city on the rise was created. That work is on exhibit in Fulmer Sill on Automobile Alley. Here is a short story about it that was featured on KFOR’s “Is This A Great State Or What?”
